Montana motorcyclist hospitalized after crash with car

With spring in full swing and summer right around the corner, motorcycle riders are taking the opportunity to fire up their bikes and get out on the road. Montana is a beautiful state and offers plenty of wide open spaces for riders to enjoy, but it’s important for bikers to stay alert. Motorcycle accidents are common here thanks in large part to motorists who are unaware or inattentive when it comes to sharing the road.

When a crash does occur, injuries can be severe and range from broken bones to neck and spinal cord injuries. Even if a rider is wearing his or her helmet, there’s no guarantee of safety. Take, for instance, a recent crash that sent a man to the hospital.

He was wearing his helmet as he took a ride on his bike on a Wednesday morning when a vehicle from the other lane turned left into a driveway right in front of the bike. Whether the other driver even saw the motorcycle is debatable but, by the time the motorcyclist saw that the car was turning, it was too late. He slammed into the car and was seriously injured. The rider was transported to a hospital for treatment, while the driver of the car did not sustain any injuries.

She was, however, given a citation. Authorities did not comment on whether she was distracted or intoxicated at the time of the crash.

This collision is a perfect example of how fast a motorcyclist can be put into danger by other drivers on the road. If you have been the victim in a motorcycle accident, especially one in which another driver was negligent, you may be able to receive compensation with the help of an attorney in Montana.
