Car accidents: 1 dead, 2 injured after truck crosses center line

There may be few scenarios in life that can be as scary as being involved in a major collision. While all types of car accidents have the potential of causing major damage to vehicles and possible injuries to those involved, head-on crashes run a greater risk of resulting in serious harm to a person's health, or worse. A recent head-on collision has left two individuals with serious injuries and claimed the life of another in Montana.

Law enforcement agents assert that the incident took place at around 2 p.m. on a recent Saturday. For reasons that remain under investigation, a southbound truck suddenly crossed over the median and entered an oncoming lane. The truck then proceeded to strike another vehicle head-on and the driver and a passenger in the second vehicle suffered serious injuries in the process.

Police have advised that the driver of the truck was killed in the accident and that the incident remains under investigation. However, they have also advised that the man may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. If he is found to be at fault in the collision, which is likely, the victims may wish to pursue restitution through a claim against the estate of the deceased, but they might need guidance in the process.

Car accidents can be exceedingly dangerous and far too many have suffered serious injuries in collisions due to another driver's negligent decisions. Since navigating the civil justice system can be an intimidating process, the victim of a similar incident could choose to speak with an experienced attorney for guidance on how best to proceed. An attorney can assist a client in Montana in pursuing the full amount of compensation deserved through a personal injury claim.
