Car accidents: Crash in construction zone injures 4, kills 1

Upon encountering a construction zone, drivers must be ready to proceed with caution and adjust speeds accordingly. Failing to slow down for construction can be dangerous, and far too many car accidents have occurred due to similar acts of negligence. A recent collision that took place in a construction zone has left four individuals with injuries and killed a 75-year-old man in Montana.

According to authorities, the accident took place in a construction zone on a recent Thursday afternoon. Upon approaching the construction zone, a driver reportedly entered a closed lane and struck several barriers in the process. Following the initial impact, the driver reportedly attempted to maneuver back into the lanes of traffic, and after crossing into the median, the vehicle went airborne and proceeded to strike an oncoming car.

Four individuals were injured in the accident, and a passenger in the second vehicle was pronounced dead soon thereafter. Authorities have advised that an investigation into the accident is ongoing. While they reportedly don't suspect the presence of impairment, they have advised that speed could have been a contributing factor in the crash.

Entering a construction zone at excessive speeds is never advisable, and similar acts of negligence may increase the odds of serious or fatal car accidents. Those who suffer serious injuries or lose a family member due to another driver's actions may wish to pursue accountability through the civil justice system. Since this can be a complex process, a person could choose to retain the services of an experienced attorney in Montana for assistance in pursuing restitution through a claim against the party deemed culpable.
