Car accidents: Head-on crash involving semi kills 2, injures 1

Two individuals have died and another suffered severe injuries in a recent collision involving a tractor-trailer in Montana. While head-on car accidents can prove dangerous under any circumstance, those involving a commercial vehicle run a higher risk of having catastrophic results. Such incidents run the unfortunate chance of leaving those involved in the hospital facing a long road to recovery, or leaving surviving loved ones grieving over a sudden loss.

The accident is said to have taken place at around 1:40 p.m. on a recent Monday. Police have advised that initial investigations indicated that the accident occurred when for unknown reasons the driver of a tractor-trailer suddenly lost control and veered into oncoming lanes. The truck proceeded to collide head-on with a car shortly thereafter before erupting into flames and causing the grass nearby to catch fire.

Police have advised that two of the occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene. They also advised that a third occupant was rushed to a medical facility with severe injuries. An investigation into the crash is reportedly underway and authorities have indicated that speed might have been a contributing factor.

Those who suffer severe injury or untimely loss in car accidents involving a commercial vehicle may wish to exercise their rights to seek accountability through the civil justice system. When facing a similar situation, a person could find it helpful to seek guidance on his or her available legal avenues by retaining the services of an attorney. An attorney can examine the incident and assist a client in Montana in pursuing the full amount of restitution deserved through a claim against the party or parties deemed responsible.
