Car accidents: 2 injured after vehicle enters oncoming lane

There are a variety of circumstances in which a driver may lose control of a vehicle and cross into oncoming lanes. Regardless of how it happens, those who cross paths with a wrong-way driver may find it nearly impossible to avoid collision, and car accidents involving a similar scenario could place the well-being of everyone involved in harm's way. A head-on collision that took place in Montana has reportedly left two individuals with injuries.

Law enforcement agents say they received reports of the incident at around 7:40 p.m. on a recent Monday. According to reports, the incident took place when for reasons unknown the driver of a southbound vehicle suddenly shifted into oncoming lanes. The vehicle proceeded to cross into the path of and collide with a second car head-on shortly thereafter.

Emergency responders advised that one of the drivers suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for medical care. The other driver was also taken to a medical facility for treatment of injuries that appeared to be minor. While the accident remains under investigation, no further information was provided as to what might have caused the driver of the first car to shift into the wrong lane of traffic.

Those who suffer severe harm in car accidents involving a negligent driver may wish to exercise their rights to pursue accountability through the civil justice system. Since the process can be challenging to navigate alone, a person in Montana could benefit from speaking with a personal injury attorney for assistance. Seeking guidance early on could help place a person in a much better position to pursue the full amount of restitution deserved through a claim against the party deemed responsible.
